Quiet Weekend

My mom was feeling a little over the atmosphere (or is it under the weather?) this weekend, so we had a quiet weekend. We did, however, make it out of the house on Saturday to meet my friends, Jackson and Lucas, at an indoor play area and some dinner. I loved climbing up the stairs and sliding down the slides, over and over and over!

And I'm certainly not shy. I loved barging my way into the busiest groups of the biggest kids in the place. Some of the kids were twice my height, but I didn't care. I wanted to play with the big kids! I am excited for the weather to get a little warmer so I can start to play outside.

Lucky girl that I am, I got to have another play date on Tuesday with my friend Danny! It snowed again in Baltimore, which meant school was closed again. But since my mom had missed three days of work the previous week, she didn't want to miss another. So I got to go play with Danny all day!
Thank you, Mrs. Becky, for letting me hang out at your place all day! I had lots of fun!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I had so much fun helping my mom make Valentine's this year.  Aren't they great?  I was really helpful, because I kept taking the marker, and screamed whenever my mom took it away.

So this weekend was a lot of fun.  We had guests up from Charlottesville.  We enjoyed their company very much, and had a very fancy dinner Saturday night.  I selected the menu, and had everyone else cook.  Baked brie to whet the palate, and a main course of steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus.  It was quite tasty.

On Sunday, after a leisurely breakfast of waffles, I took my mom and dad and our two friends to the movies - my treat!  I had never been to the movies before, so this was a whole new experience for me.  We went to the IMax theater, and saw a movie about all the amazing animals in all these amazing landscapes.
My mom kept calling the animals all these silly names, like "lemur," "lion," and "seal."  What was she thinking?  They are all dogs!  I even had to correct her a few times very loudly during the movie.  I know everyone in the audience appreciated my assistance.  I really enjoyed the movies.  I hope to go again soon!

And just because I'm so cute, here's a little video of me playing "Ring Around the Rosie!"

Not So Super Bowl

This weekend, my Steelers were playing the Packers in the Super Bowl.  I looked really hard, but couldn't find this "bowl" everyone was talking about.  It looked to me like the game was being played in a regular old stadium, and not a bowl at all.  But what do I know.  I'm only one, and for some inexplicable reason, my mom made my hair stick up like some sort of Dr. Seuss character.  I'm told it was very cute.
This looks more like a Super Pot to me!
Anyway, we cheered on our valiant Steelers in this not so Super Bowl which was played in a stadium.  The Steelers didn't play their best game, but the loss hurt nonetheless.  I was hoping for this ring everyone kept talking about (I do like my jewels), but I guess I'll have to wait for next year.
I take football very seriously.

I'm a big girl!

Actually, I'm fairly petite.  But I'm a whole lot bigger now than I was one year ago!
Riesling and I are best good friends
At one year old, here are my stats:
Head circumference: 45.5 cm (75%)
Length: 28.5 inches (50%)
Weight: 18 pounds, 10 ounces (25%)

I'm walking, and saying a few words (hi, bye, dad, and dog), and I'm very good at pointing at whatever I want.  I love playing patty-cake, peek-a-boo and ring around the rosie.  I am exceedingly busy and love all my toys.  I am not often seen without at least one friend tucked under my arm.  This weekend, my mom, dad, Grammy and Grampy gave me some crayons to experiment with.  They are very tasty, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with the sheet of paper that goes with the crayons.  Grown-ups have some really odd notions of how to play.  My way is much better.
