The Big Easy

I'm a well traveled little guy... Just before my 6 month birthday, I flew to The Big Easy (New Orleans, LA) with Mom and Dad for Dad's big Executive Council meeting.  None of us had ever been to NOLA before.  Mom was a little nervous since it's supposed to be such a crazy town, but Dad and I were excited!  As it turns out, we all loved it.  I was little hot at times, but we just popped into stores to cool off in the a/c as much as needed.  Mom got to see one of her good friends from college, who was a fabulous tour guide - thanks, Maeve!  Dad got to have a lot of fun with his colleagues.

We all ate really, really well.  Here's the list Mom kept on her phone of all the amazing food:

Saturday:
Lunch at Mr. B's Bistro
Chicken & Andouille Gumbo
Duck spring rolls
Seafood Gumbo
Jambalaya

Dinner at Port of Call
Hamburger
Baked potatoes (aka: the only two things on their menu!)

Sunday:
Breakfast at Cafe du Monde
Beignets!  I got to have some powdered sugar!

Jazz Brunch on the Steamboat Natchez
Ham
Creamed spinach
Grits
Egg soufflé
Seafood Gumbo
Beignets

NYL Dinner
Brisket
Veggie jambalaya
And lots more than Mom didn't write down...

Late night at Daisy Dukes
Fried green tomato po'boy
Alligator sausage po'boy

Monday:
Breakfast at The Grill
Eggs, hash browns

Lunch at Mothers Next Door
Ferdi po'boys
Red beans and rice
Gumbo

Dinner at Coop's (Just Dad, as Mom and I had to fly home)
Rabbit and sausage jambalaya

And here are pictures from the trip!  When can we go back!

Boordy

With Uncle Taylor's wedding approaching, we knew we needed to practice our dance moves.  So we went to Boordy for one of their Summer Concerts!  It was so much fun, having a picnic and listening to music and DANCING!!  Laura even made some friends for Mom & Dad.
I'm not really running around on my own yet, but I promise I had fun!  Laura and Gavin loved it, and really have some great dance moves.

Paul's Baptism

Well friends, I have been baptized and am free of sin!  I even fit in the antique christening gown that Mommy and Grammy and so many other babies wore!  Laura wore it too, but Gavin was too big... I was almost too big myself, but I squeezed in.

I love my godparents, Andrew and Jenny!  I was very happy to be held by them, and was so glad they were able to spend the whole weekend with us.

Gavin and Nico were BFFs that day.
And I fell in LOVE with cake!  Mommy wanted a picture of me next to my baptism cake, but I dove straight for it as soon as I was close.  I dug my little fingers in and wanted to eat it all!

We got a picture with our best friends.
Then we tried for a picture of all three of us... better luck next time!
And since I liked the cake so much, Mommy let me try some rice cereal.  Cake is better.

Staff Picnic

Mommy's work had their annual staff picnic yesterday.  Laura and I got to go!  Gavin went to school because Mommy says she's "not that crazy."  I have only been around a few months, but Mommy? I beg to differ. That lady is completely crazy... but fun!  We visited Mommy's work while she tried to get some stuff done, then we went down to the Mall (this big grassy area that was really hot but had lots of tents) for the picnic with Mommy's closest 5,000 coworkers.  We also went to the Natural History Museum to see the jewels and cool off.  Laura loved the gems, but was disappointed that they didn't have garnet on display (at least that we found) and that garnet is red and that her birthstone isn't emerald.
