So Far in September

There are only a few days left in this month, so I'm going to pre-recap for you everything we've done so far!

We spent the first day of September in Grandma's pool celebrating our friend's 4th birthday!!  Laura and I hardly got out of the water at all.  Except for some cake.  We do love cake.

The next weekend, we drove up to Matt & Melissa's new house for a house warming.  They had a kiddie pool for us, and lots of yummy food.  Laura and I played bartender with our cousin for everyone.  We stayed overnight, and had so much fun eating pancakes the next morning!

Grammy flew in a few days later to visit with us.  We love Grammy visits.  While she was here, I ate my first ever whole apple, and Laura and I got to help bake cookies!  We also went to HampdenFest to see toilet races.  Toilet races are exactly what they sound like: grown-ups racing wheeled toilets down a big hill.  It's on my bucket list.

This past weekend was really busy but SO MUCH FUN!  Mommy's work opened up their really big new gallery: The William H. Gross Stamp Gallery!  Friday night, Mom didn't get home till really late, as she was at the preview party.  She and her coworkers had a lot of fun exploring the galleries they worked so hard on for so long.  On Saturday, Daddy drove Laura and me to Maria and Jarrett's for a playdate and sleepover.  We went to a corn maze with pumpkins and llamas!  Mommy and Dad went to a gala to celebrate the new gallery!

On Sunday, we all drove to Mommy's work for the Grand Opening of the gallery.  I loved stealing markers, hugging Tweety Bird and climbing on the truck. Laura loved coloring, decorating a postcard, collecting stamps, and climbing on the truck.  We had a great time highly recommend a visit to the new gallery!

This coming weekend we are MOVING!!  To our new house!!  Come help!!

Here are some cute things I did in September:
- I started climbing out of my crib!  (And turning on the water in the bathroom sink)
- I fell in love with the book "Pat the Bunny."  I like pointing to the little girl and boy and saying "Lo-wa" and "Gab" since they look so much like me and my sister.
- I like saying "Hi baby! Baby! Hi!" to my reflection
- I also like patting Ries and saying "Hey Reee!"
- You can also catch me waving to everyone and saying "Hey Guys!"

Here are some funny things Laura said in September:
Today I pretended to snore.  It wasn't that funny, but I laughed beacuse it was day and I wasn't asleep

Mom! Somebody put colorful rocks under this table!
Ew. Laura, don't touch that gum.

July & August Recap

Mom had all these grand intentions of updating the blog about us.  And then life sorta got in the way (again).  So I'm here for a quick recap of everything we did after Maria's wedding, and some of the funnier things I said!

Toward the end of July, Mom and Dad piled us all into the car to go "house hunting."  We didn't have any sort of hunting attire that I could discern, but off we went.  I liked the first house with the PINK bedroom, but Mom and Dad weren't sold on it.  I guess my opinion doesn't hold much weight!  I hear murmured promises of a pink room in our new house...  We looked at a lot of houses that day, and finally saw one that Mom and Dad really, really liked!

On July 24th, Gavin and I got a new baby cousin!!  She is beautiful.

Mommy and Dad celebrated their wedding anniversary by going out to dinner in Harrisburg and playing mini golf, while Gavin and I played with Grandma and Gramps.

In August, we celebrated Nate's new goddaughter's Christening!  Gavin and I played with our friend's trucks the whole time.  Baby C didn't cry when the water got poured on her head.  We all loved the fancy cake back at our friend's house after!

Sadly, we had to fly very quickly up to Cape Cod on August 19th to say goodbye to Super Grammy.  We got to her room around 10:00 that night and hugged her and blew her sleepy kisses.  The rest of the week was spent getting ready for her wake and funeral, telling our favorite Super Grammy stories, and playing a little bit too. Grammy's services were really beautiful - and very well attended.  A bagpiper played lovely music for Grammy back at Aunt Rosie's house just before lunch.  Mommy flew with both us kids by herself back to Maryland on Sunday, as Daddy had flown to Myrtle Beach to see Uncle Andy for the weekend.  I got a really cuddly teddy bear backpack/leash out of the deal, and I named him Cubby.

Sadly again, poor Pippi went to keep Super Grammy company the next week.  I miss Super Grammy and Pippi very much, and ask about them a lot.  I think they are having a good time together though.

So that's July and August in a quick recap.  Here are some of the funny things I said!

Once upon a time there was the sweetest baby who never ever cried. And then she was eaten by a tiger. Her parents could never have another baby again.

I want to he an ambulance driver when I grow up. Cuz it's better than fixing the road

It's so, so funny. Like, I'm serious.

So before Christmas, Santa will come to a party and I can tell him I want a tub for my dolls, right?

My eyes are stating to say, "I'm tired!" (said in a squeaky voice)

I was impressed (by the minions in Despicable Me)

Bernelephant - benevolent: Nate asked Laura if she'd rather be a benevolent leader or a dictator.  Laura chose dictator.

Maria & Jarrett's Wedding Week Extravaganza

We had the most fabulous trip to Florida the first week of July.  Let me tell you all about it.  We got in the car Wednesday afternoon, with Grandma, Aunt Liz and Nico in a second car behind us (mom had to stay behind to work a few days).  We drove and drove, till we got to Myrtle Beach!  That's where Uncle Andy and Timmy (the husky) live!  We were in Myrtle Beach for the 4th of July and some fun fireworks.  We soaked up some sun, and also got to see the fancy golf store where Andy works.  Gavin tried out a putter.

Friday night, we all got in the car again (with Andy, too!), and drove through the night to Captiva Island, Florida.  That's where we spent the rest of the week!!  Gramps rented a big house with a pool for us all to stay in.  There was a second house on the property where a bunch of Jarrett's friends were staying - including a little girl that's one of my new BFFs!  We had SO MUCH FUN all week!

K shared all her dresses with me, and we even wore them in the pool one day!

There were lizards everywhere, and beautiful sunrises.  Daddy and Gavin even went fishing at sunrise one morning.

We went on lots of boat rides on the pontoon Daddy rented for the week.

Mommy finally made it to Florida late Tuesday night - she was in our room when Gavin and I woke up Wednesday morning! We were really excited to see her!

Wednesday night, we practiced for the wedding the next day, then got cupcakes and went for a sunset cruise in the boat!

Thursday was THE WEDDING!!!  We all helped Maria get ready for the ceremony.

Daddy helped set up the chairs.
Then we all got dressed and headed to the beach.

I helped spread flower petals for Maria to walk along.
Then Maria and Gramps came down the aisle.
It was a beautiful ceremony (if a little hot).
Gavin played in the sand the whole time.
We got back to the house, and it was time to PARTY!!!

We had one more day at the beach on Friday, and then we had to head home to Maryland.  We left Saturday morning and drove for a long time.  We were able to stop in North Carolina to have dinner with Daddy's friend from high school and her little boy.  What a fun way to unwind a little on a long ride!  Back into the car, and we finally got home very early Sunday morning.  It was such a fun week!
